A while ago I reviewed a retro inspired game called Xonix 3D that I absolutely loved. It was inspired by AirXonix which is a game I played so much back in Middle School. Now, a sequel is out called Xonix 3D 2 which adds a lot of interesting aspects but somehow also loses the "feel" it had in the first one.

Most of the new additions in Xonix 3D 2 come in the form of lots of different enemies. There are turrets that shoot things at you if you stay still too long, duel enemies that create lines of lasers between them that you can't hit, flaming enemies, etc. Lots of new ones with some new abilities and different looks. The powerups in Xonix 3D 2 also got a slight overhaul with some different ones.

Gameplay in Xonix 3D 2 is still the same that you know. Create lines to fill in the level without getting hit by the enemies. Great game with that retro feel. However, for some reason Xonix 3D 2 decided to go a different graphical route than in the first one which really threw me off and can't say I like it. Everything is more pixelated and in the bad way where it is hard to really focus on everything. Other than that though, Xonix 3D 2 is still the same game you know and is a fun game to play.
