I just love a good shooter flash game. While the genre is fairly stale and not many new ideas come about, occasionally a game will come out that is just pure fun and gets everything right even without adding anything new. This is the case with new game Madville by Umut Dervis.

The craziness is actually kind of inferred by the title, Madville, and the story is one patient at a mental hospital telling his story to another. This brings to mind is the whole thing made up or did he think the aliens he was killing were really people (yeah that's dark) but in general it makes for some interesting gameplay. In Madville it is you versus an alien invasion with some weird and interesting creatures. At first you only have a gun that shoots out a punching glove in short range but you soon unlock a lot more crazy weapons. These range from stun guns, shotguns, saw blade shooters, miniguns and more. Even better is the inclusion of a random dice roll powerup that can both help and hurt you. Some of the helpful things it allows you to do is turn into an invincible Pacman like person eating everyone, a giant fist to crush people, overpowered weapons and more. Bad things include shrinking you, making all the enemies huge, limiting your vision and more. In general, Madville has some crazy ideas that really make gameplay some of the most fun I've ever played.

Also helping Madville out is the excellent graphics. Again it kind of reminds me of Zombocalypse but better. The level arenas are detailed as well as the large variety of enemies. The only thing holding Madville back is it is too easy. I never had a problem once beating the game, I maxed out my upgrades three levels before the final boss fight and in general it seems weapons are overpowered. If there was a bit more challenge in Mad
